Landowners,

The timber market has become rigorous has of late.  In the last year, we’ve seen huge increases in the price of oak logs, timber, and lumber.  In addition to highly desirable oak prices, yellow-poplar continues to boom as it holds onto record high prices that have been sustained for the last 18 months.

Here’s a good summary of what we can expect for solid wood products going into the summer:

Additionally, soft hardwood pulpwood and hardwood pulpwood in general have become major drivers in the forest products market with much of this is due to the use of biofuels for the generation of sustainable fuels electricity.   The increase in demand of hardwood chips allows us to better manage stands of timber to clear out some of the more undesirable species.

Give us a call if you are considering a timber harvest on your property.

See you all in the woods!
